1. Developer and contact
Mandarin Orbit is developed by Riccardo Mechi. For privacy or support requests, email support@mandarinorbit.com. The public developer contact is contact@mandarinorbit.com.
2. No Mandarin Orbit account or application server
The app does not require an account and uses no Mandarin Orbit backend to collect progress, answers or study activity. It contains no advertising, in-app analytics or user profiling.
3. Data stored on your device
Progress, answers, points, streaks, medals and information needed for the app to function are stored locally on your device. Mandarin Orbit uses this data to display your path and organise some practice activities. It is not sent to the developer.
4. Microphone and pronunciation recording
Mandarin Orbit accesses the microphone only after an explicit user action and the relevant operating-system permission. A recording is used to let you replay your pronunciation, remains temporarily in memory and is deleted when reset, when changing activity or when closing the app. It is not sent to the developer.
5. Device speech
Pronunciation playback uses the TTS service available on your device. Any network access, processing or retention performed by the selected speech engine depends on that service and its settings. These operations do not run through Mandarin Orbit servers.
6. Export and import
You may voluntarily export a JSON file containing progress and choose where to keep, copy or transfer it. Import replaces the local path after showing a summary and first creates a safety copy of the current path. Interface language, theme, TTS voices and other device preferences are not replaced by progress import.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data remains on the device until you remove it. On Android, clear Mandarin Orbit data in system settings or uninstall the app.
8. Android backup
The Android version prepared for Google Play is configured not to use automatic application backup as the mechanism for transferring progress. Manual export is available when you want to keep or move your progress.
9. The website and Cloudflare
The Mandarin Orbit website does not add Google Analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, remote forms or profiling. Your theme preference may be stored locally in your browser.
The website is published through Cloudflare Pages and traffic passes through the Cloudflare network. To deliver, protect and operate the service, Cloudflare may process technical request data such as IP addresses, routing data and system configuration information. This processing is governed by Cloudflare’s terms and privacy policy.
10. Email communications
If you write to support@mandarinorbit.com or contact@mandarinorbit.com, the sender address, message content and any information you choose to include are processed so the request can be answered and the contact managed.
Mailboxes for the domain are hosted through Purelymail. The service processes the data needed to provide email under its own privacy policy.
11. External links and voluntary contributions
Links to Google Play, PayPal or other external services open platforms governed by their own terms and privacy notices. The website does not automatically load PayPal resources and does not directly collect payment details.
If you choose to contribute through PayPal.me, the transaction is handled by PayPal. PayPal may process the personal and transaction data needed for the service and may share with the recipient the transaction information provided by its system. Contributions are voluntary and do not unlock features, content, points or in-app advantages.
12. Children
Mandarin Orbit is an educational tool, requires no account and does not ask users to provide their age or date of birth. The data handling described in this policy applies to app users; any age classifications and distribution requirements are handled in the Google Play listing.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if app features, dependencies, services or data-handling practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
